A lot has happened... new and really great things. A four month trip to London in October 2006? Well plans change. Here's one good reason. The rest is mere detail. End result: London is home these days.

In retrospect, the trip to London in October 2006 was us testing the waters here. The more we liked it, the more we liked it. The four months was action-packed, and by February we were only going back to Cape Town because we felt we had to. We did the usual talk of coming back and doing it all again. Four months again next October? Winter wasn't so bad. We didn't count on one life changing event...
Things went into fast forward when Jo discovered she was pregnant. The choice loomed. Stay in Cape Town for the indefinite and unforeseeable, or move while we can?
So here we are, the proudest parents, a stones throw from Exmouth Market, and less than 10 minutes walk for me to work. (Yes I have a real job now)
Not looked back so far, life is hard work in this city, and has the twin juxtaposed benefits of being stable and exciting. We've always loved it here, and it is great to be back. Although I can sometimes hear the crash of waves of the South Atlantic... (and that's what holidays are for - a two week break next month will allow us to introduce our angel to the broader friends and family. Looking forward to it.)
